Homes in Clarksville

1950s-70s ranches, low ground and vented crawl spaces

Clarksville was built out mostly in the decades after the war, block after block of brick ranches and split-levels along Eastern Boulevard, Lewis and Clark Parkway and the streets between them, on flat ground that sits low toward Silver Creek and the river. Most are on vented crawl spaces with batt insulation, some on slabs, and the ground under them drains slowly.

Near the Ohio the water table rises and falls with the river. Basements and crawl spaces that are fine in August can have standing water in March, and a sump has to be sized for the spring, not the summer. In Clarksville the problem is usually the crawl space: soaked and fallen insulation, mold on the joists, a musty house in summer, sometimes standing water in spring. Reconditioning where the insulation has gone, a drain and sump where water collects, and a full encapsulation with a dehumidifier to keep it dry.

Absolutely a terrific job and work ethic. On time, called ahead the day before to confirm the appointment. Definitely goes above and beyond. Highly recommend.

Had a great experience with Watertight Waterproofing. Zach was very professional and easy to work with from start to finish. He sent a crew of two guys out to install a new sump pump in my house, and they did an excellent job. They worked efficiently…

Absolutely amazing customer service and their price is hands down the best in the business! Their employees were amazing and walked me through the process.

Questions

What Clarksville homeowners ask

Still have a question? Call the office, Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The house smells musty every summer. Is that the crawl space?

Almost always. Warm humid air comes in through the vents, condenses under the floor, and the house pulls that air upstairs. Sealing and dehumidifying the crawl space removes it.

Do you serve Clarksville, Indiana?

Yes. Clarksville, Jeffersonville, Sellersburg and the Clark County area, with free estimates.

Does the insulation need replacing or can it dry out?

Fiberglass that has soaked and sagged does not recover. Reconditioning replaces it after the moisture is fixed, so the new insulation stays dry.
