Signs you need it

Where basement water actually comes from

The floor-wall joint

A common entry point in Louisville. Water under pressure pushes up through the joint where the slab meets the wall.

Wall cracks

Poured walls crack as they settle. Block walls leak through mortar joints and the hollow cores.

Window wells and the top of the wall

Surface water and roof water pouring in from above, often from a downspout dumping next to the house.

A sump that quit

A dead pump, a stuck float or a power cut turns a dry basement wet in one storm.

What we do

Diagnosis first. The repair matches the cause.

A wet basement is not one problem; it is one of several, and the fix is different for each. We start by finding the entry points and the pressure behind them: grading, downspouts, the water table, the wall material, the condition of the sump. Then we repair what is actually wrong. That might be a full interior drainage system, a crack injection, a window well drain, buried downspout lines, a new sump, or a combination.

What we will not do is sell you the same package regardless of the cause, and we will not paint a wall and call it waterproofed.

  • Entry points located and photographed, cause explained
  • Repairs matched to the cause: drainage, cracks, wells, sumps, exterior work
  • Exterior water handled too: grading, downspouts, yard drainage
  • Lifetime transferable warranty on the system installed

Zach’s crew of “good old country boys,” as he described them, waterproofed our basement December 1st and 3rd because we had a big-for-Kentucky snow, and the guys couldn’t make it to Shelbyville on the 2nd. From the website, we could tell they mainly…

Questions

Wet basement repair: what people ask

Still have a question? Call the office, Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Why does my basement only leak in heavy rain?

Because the soil around the foundation saturates and the water table rises, putting pressure on the walls and floor. Drainage relieves that pressure so it stops finding the weak point.

Can a wet basement be fixed permanently?

Yes, in most cases, with a system that manages the water rather than blocking it. That is what a perimeter drain and sump do, and it is why we warranty them for life.

How much does wet basement repair cost?

It depends entirely on the cause: a buried downspout line is a small job, a full interior drainage system is a large one, and the inspection tells you which you need. Every job is priced in writing after a free inspection, and the cost guide has typical Louisville ranges and a calculator for planning.

Is my finished basement ruined?

Not usually. We open only what is needed at the perimeter and put back what we can. Wet carpet and drywall may need to come out, and we will tell you plainly.
