Before
Where it started
A trench along the base of the block wall, with black corrugated drain pipe laid in it and a crew member in coveralls working at the far end. The pipe sits at the low point so water reaches it before it reaches the floor of the crawl space.
After
How it was left
The same wall and the same run, now filled with washed gravel over the pipe. Water drains through the gravel into the pipe and on to the sump. The liner goes over this, not under it.

The work
How a job like this goes
Crawl space waterproofing trenches the perimeter, sets perforated drain tile in washed gravel, and routes it to a sealed sump basin at the low point with a discharge line run well away from the house. Only then is the space lined or encapsulated, on dry ground.
- Perimeter trench along the wall
- Perforated pipe in washed gravel
- Sealed sump, pump, discharge away from the house
- Liner or encapsulation over dry ground
