Crawl space repair
Crawl space repair, floor joists and support beams in Louisville, KY
Sagging floors, soft spots, rotted joists and failing supports rebuilt from underneath. Sistered or replaced joists, new beams, adjustable steel supports and a subfloor you can trust again.

Signs you need it
Floors do not sag for no reason
A dip or bounce in the floor
Usually a joist that has softened from moisture, a beam that has settled, or a support post that has failed.
Doors that stick, cracks at the corners of frames
The house is moving because what holds it up is moving.
Dark, soft or crumbling wood under the house
Rot is moisture damage. Fixing the wood without fixing the water means doing it again.
A bathroom or kitchen floor that feels spongy
Plumbing leaks and moisture soak the subfloor from above and below.

What we do
Joist, beam and subfloor repair by the crew that already understands the moisture
We sister new lumber alongside weakened joists or replace them, replace rotted subfloor from above or below, install new treated support beams, and set adjustable steel posts on proper footings to support the floor and hold it level. Everything is done from the crawl space, so your floors and finishes upstairs stay put unless the subfloor itself has to come out.
What makes our repairs last is that we fix the moisture at the same time. Damp wood keeps rotting; dry wood does not. A joist repair from us usually comes with a vapor barrier, drainage or a dehumidifier in the scope.
We do not do structural foundation work such as underpinning, slab lifting or steel piling. If that is what a house needs, we will say so.
- Sistered and replaced joists, replaced subfloor, new beams
- Adjustable steel support posts on proper footings
- Moisture fix included so the new wood stays dry
- Lifetime transferable warranty on our work

Why Watertight
Repairs that last because the water is handled too
A carpenter fixes the wood. A waterproofer fixes the water. We are both, which is why the repair holds. Photos before and after, one crew, one warranty.
- Same crew handles the structural work and the moisture
- No foundation-lifting upsell; we tell you when a job is outside what we do
- Written scope with every repair itemized
3 months agoZach’s crew of “good old country boys,” as he described them, waterproofed our basement December 1st and 3rd because we had a big-for-Kentucky snow, and the guys couldn’t make it to Shelbyville on the 2nd. From the website, we could tell they mainly…
4 weeks agoI would highly recommend Watertight Waterproofing. From the time the owner (Zack) gave me an estimate and explained all they were going to do to my crawl space, to completion, everything went flawless. The crews were great, very professional. Thanks again…
a month agoThese guys are great. We just had a total encapsulation of our crawlspace. We had standing water underneath our house and it was causing problems. WaterTight Waterproofing came in and encapsulated everything. They put in a drain field and installed a…
Questions
Crawl space repair, joists and support beams: what people ask
Still have a question? Call the office, Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
How much does joist or beam repair cost?
It ranges widely, from sistering a few joists up to beams, posts and subfloor across a large area, and the inspection produces an itemized price. Every job is priced in writing after a free inspection, and the cost guide has typical Louisville ranges and a calculator for planning.
Can you fix a sagging floor without tearing it up?
Usually yes. Most joist, beam and support work is done from the crawl space. Subfloor that has rotted through is replaced from above, which means lifting the flooring in that spot.
Is my house going to fall down?
Almost never suddenly. But sagging gets worse and repairs get bigger the longer they wait. A free inspection tells you how urgent it is.
Do you do foundation repair?
We repair the wood structure and the supports in the crawl space and fix the water. We do not do foundation underpinning, slab lifting or steel piling.
