Typical ranges

Ten price ranges that cover most jobs

Some services are always bundled with others (a vapor barrier is part of an encapsulation, insulation is part of reconditioning), so they share a line.

Crawl space encapsulation

Full liner, sealed vents and walls, dehumidifier. Depends on square footage, access, how wet it is and whether mold or repairs come first.

$4,500 to $14,000typical Louisville range

Crawl space reconditioning

Cleanout, removal of ruined insulation, moisture control, new vapor barrier, insulation and any repairs found along the way.

$3,000 to $12,000typical Louisville range

Basement waterproofing (interior drain and sump)

Interior drainage channel around the perimeter, wall vapor barrier and a sealed sump pump system.

$4,000 to $12,000typical Louisville range

Mold remediation

Containment, HEPA cleaning, antimicrobial treatment and the moisture fix. Small spot treatments sit at the low end.

$1,500 to $6,000typical Louisville range

Sump pump installation or replacement

Basin, quality pump, sealed lid and discharge. Battery backup adds to the high end.

$1,200 to $3,500typical Louisville range

French drain (exterior or interior)

Priced by the linear foot; a typical residential run lands in this range.

$2,500 to $8,000typical Louisville range

Buried downspout extensions

Per downspout, trench, pipe and pop-up emitter.

$350 to $900 eachtypical Louisville range

Crawl space dehumidifier

Commercial-grade unit sized to the space, installed, hung or set, with a condensate drain.

$1,300 to $2,800typical Louisville range

Joist, subfloor and support beam repair

Sistering, replacement, new beams and adjustable steel posts. Wide range because damage ranges widely.

$1,500 to $10,000+typical Louisville range

Exterior foundation waterproofing

Excavation, membrane, drain tile and backfill. The most involved option, used when the outside of the wall is the problem.

$6,000 to $20,000+typical Louisville range
These are planning ranges for the Louisville area. They are not a quote. Square footage, access, how much water is present, whether there is mold, and what repairs turn up once we are under the house all change the number. The free estimate gives you an exact figure in writing.

What moves the price

Six things that change the number more than anything else

Square footage

Liner, drainage and insulation are bought and installed by the foot. A 1,200 sq ft crawl space is roughly twice the material of a 600 sq ft one.

How much water

A damp space needs moisture control. A space with standing water needs drainage and a sump first, then the moisture control.

Mold

Remediation comes before encapsulation, never after. It adds containment, treatment and disposal to the job.

Structural damage

Rotted joists, failed supports and a sagging beam are repairs on top of the moisture work. We find them at the inspection, not on the invoice.

Access

An 18-inch crawl space with one small hatch takes longer than a 4-foot one with a door. Time is part of the price.

What is already there

Old liner, soaked insulation, debris and abandoned ductwork all have to come out before anything goes in.

Paying for it

Insurance, staging the work and comparing bids

Insurance. Sudden water damage (a burst pipe, a failed water heater) is often covered; long-term seepage usually is not. We manage insurance claims for covered losses and document the job the way adjusters need it.

Comparing bids. Make sure every bid covers the same scope: the same liner, the same drainage, the same dehumidifier size, the same warranty terms. We will beat any reputable company's price on a like-for-like scope, and we will tell you plainly when a cheaper bid has left something out.

Doing it in stages. Some jobs can be sequenced: drainage and a sump this year, encapsulation next. We will tell you what is safe to wait on and what is not.

Cost questions

The ones we hear most

Still have a question? Call the office, Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

How much does crawl space encapsulation cost in Louisville?

Most full encapsulations fall in the $4,500 to $14,000 range, depending on square footage, access, moisture and whether mold or repairs come first. Your written estimate is exact.

How much does basement waterproofing cost?

An interior drainage system with a wall membrane and a sealed sump typically runs $4,000 to $12,000 for a Louisville basement. Exterior waterproofing costs more because it involves excavation.

How accurate is the cost calculator?

It works from the same planning ranges as this guide and adjusts them for the size, height, condition and access you enter, so it lands closer than a single range can. It is still not a quote: the exact number comes in writing after a free inspection. Send your estimate with your request and the technician arrives knowing what you priced.

Is the estimate free even if I do not hire you?

Yes. There is no charge and no obligation for the inspection or the written estimate.

Do you offer financing?

Ask us at the estimate. Options change, and we will tell you what is available for your job.
