Before
Where it started
The pump sits exposed in an open pit with a loose hose and cables, against a block wall with heavy staining and efflorescence. Pipes run down the wall above it. An open pit lets humidity and debris in and does nothing to keep the wall dry.
After
How it was left
The same pipes on the same wall, now against white liner. The pit has a sealed black lid with the discharge and cables passing through it, and the floor around it is patched flush.

The work
How a job like this goes
A sump is installed as the end of a drainage system, not instead of one. The basin is set at the low point and sealed with a gasketed lid, the pump is sized to the flow with a check valve on the discharge, and the line runs outside away from the foundation. The wall gets a liner so it can be wet behind the system while the room stays dry.
- Sealed basin and lid
- Quality pump, check valve, proper discharge
- Battery backup available
- Wall liner tied into the drain
